Summer 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2003 I am trying to gather prices for the stand up RENT TO OWN signs. Does anyone have a resource for this type source. I know of local sign company in town who does it for the RE brokers, but his prices are not cheap. (I've used him for other projects). Also, these are not what people are calling "bandit" signs, are they?I tend to think of bandit signs as single sided that can be attached to a phone pole. Thanks!Summer
option8 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2003 Summer,This would be called a bandit sign.I know of a few sites: http://www.supercheapsigns.comhttp://www.osirisimaging.com/sl01.htmlhttp://www.witnessdesigns.com Additionally, I heard a great idea about these. If we can figure out a way for the Rent to Own signs to have a hanger or some means to carry another small sign that says "We buy houses, too!"We just might get a double hit for the sign in the yard Let us know what you find out. I haven't bought ours yet, just saved the links. option8
JohnE 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2003 Hello, Check out this site:www.resultsquick.com/custom/index.cfm?ID=10235&winpop=1 The owner of the site, Richard Roop, says to use custom made signs when you buy and homemade signs when you sell. JohnE
Summer 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2003 Option 8 -- Thanks, the sites were great and I see how the bandit signs fit into the metal sign holders. That's what I was looking for. JohnE - visited the site you recommended, but did not see where the signs were located. Also, can you explain further the reasoning behind the use of homemade signs vs. custom made signs. I'm very curious about this type psychology. Thanks for the help! Summer
MichaelC 160 Report post Posted February 27, 2003 I've always used the metal "H Frame" style signs to place on the front lawn on every property I am marketing. The frame is a heavy steel, and the sign is sheet metal. Mine simply say: RENT TO OWN (123) 456-7890I have always found these signs to be a very effective generator of phone calls from prospective tenant/buyers. I have purchased mine from the local FastSigns franchise for $65 each. If you already have the frames and just need the sheet metal insert the cost is around $15. These prices may vary in your location. You can get some info online at www.fastsigns.com.
witchdctr 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2003 I would like to suggest if you use the sign guy before, it never fails to ask for a discount.......Ask and ye shall receive!!!....especially if you used him before or use him on a regular basis. Simply tell him that you would like to do more business with him, but his price is a little steep.. just a suggestion that way you dont have to search for a new guy.,..,,,. = )joe
designtech 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2003 Is it better to use homemade, unprofessional signs that look like FSBO signs or better to look professional as Real Estate office signs?
MichaelC 160 Report post Posted February 28, 2003 Hello, designtech, and welcome to The Naked Investor. We hope you become an active and contributing member in our community. As for your sign question, well, I haven't done any scientific study so I can't answer with any authority. Personally, many years ago I opted for the professional signs I posted about above. They have always been effective for me, and have proven to be quite cost efficient, too. Signs I purchased seven years ago are still in use today. I imagine if I was using homemade signs I would have replaced them numerous times in that period. Then again, maybe I'm just a lousy sign maker?
