Adam King (MI) 1 Report post Posted October 30, 2008 Hey all,Well, it's been a very, very long time since I posted. See a lot of new faces!Anyway, I would like to ask you all a favor I'm sure you will enjoy responding to. Would you please contribute in either a list, or short summary of bullet points everything that frustrates you about the business? This could include complaints you may have, or things you just can't figure out. For example: if you're confused about certain paperwork, seller's tough questions, how to deal with problem tenants etc. It would be a great help to me...and you. I am doing a bunch of free tutorials online and would love to be able to use you as a case study. Once the tutorials are done, I'll put a link here so you can all get your answers first hand. Thanks a million!Adam

vballdarin 1 Report post Posted October 30, 2008 Did you see the Zillow report on CNBC that between 35%-56% of people across the country actually think their house value was flat or increased over the last year?!?!? ~That would definately be one.~The fact that investors have to overcome the sterotype that we are scam artists trying to take homes from people.~Trying to stay the course and not a following-the-herd mentality or being a leming.~When doing your marketing....Knowing how effective each method is with the results and when to switch gears and try something else. BEV! 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2008 Frustration? I'm not sure but here's the thing.... My story is the drastic differences in dealing with different cultures when introducing my services. For example: THE MIDDLE EASTERN (not actual picture) These are my hardest to deal with, yet, the most deals closed on successfully.Hardest NOT in getting the house under contract (that's done in the first 5 minutes of the meeting).By hardest I mean in selling the idea to these gentlemen that a woman will be in control of the entire arrangement and not them... Do you know how hard it is for a woman to have to tell gentlemen of this culture (groups of 4+ of these men in my meetings always) that is either my way or no way at all? I've been dealing with this for a few years now. My favorite culture to deal with are the ASIANS (specially female landlords) !!I LOVE THESE CULTURE!! If I could do CA's in China, I'd be the riches person on this planet LOL (not actual picture) My newest addition and MOST Cooperative Experience of them all so far is the LATIN FEMALE INVESTOR. (not actual picture)This young lady is a very successful investor and has investment properties in different states, specially in Ohio which she wants me to help her with. BEV! I've been dealing with this for a few years now. My favorite culture to deal with are the ASIANS (specially female landlords) !!I LOVE THESE CULTURE!! If I could do CA's in China, I'd be the riches person on this planet LOL! BEV! I beg to differ with you Bev regarding dealing with ASIANS! My frustrations FROM DAY 1 have been dealing with East Indians and ASIANS. Here in Vancouver, our population is made up of 80% of these cultures and what I have found is that they are the MOST difficult people to deal with. YES! Bev, ASIANS, especially the ASIANS! It seems that they have tried to sell me an OVER-PRICED home or that their relative is a Realtor. Here's what I learned from EXPERIENCE (as well as from my mentor who's been in the business for over 40 years) and their mentalities: EAST INDIANS: They will screw even their own kind over. They actually prefer to deal with white people because they are honest. Yes we are, but they are still unreasonable and ruthless & crooks! ASIANS: They will pay double or even triple the price as they are buying for the FUTURE for their family (children, grandchildren). Therefore, price is not an object, nor is any price too high! Kinda explains why the average house (shack) here costs over $700K. They will NOT entertain a Lease/Option UNLESS they directly benefit. I've spoken to a few of them that wanted EXACT details on how it worked as it sounded interesting to them. However, I knew what they were up to and wouldn't tell them exactly all the ins and outs. I was onto them! I got sooooooooooo frustrated after trying and trying and trying that I just gave up and quit trying to deal with these types of "immigrants", which like I said is 80% of the folks! Therefore, I will only work with white people (which leaves only 20% of the people that I can work with). Yah, it sucks to live in a Province that has TOOOO many immigrants and are pushing us out of our home & Province and people that I can't help! WCG
