skalember 1 Report post Posted August 10, 2009 Stumbled across this site today http://www.zilpy.com/ Was wondering if any of you have heard of it before and if so, how accurate are the comps? Seems to give you a decent range
Mr Investor 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2009 In all do honesty I never go by any online comp service even as an estimate. I have to have recent sold comps in order to determine property values. I just don't trust online sites.
<Steve> 82 Report post Posted August 11, 2009 I use Ziply for rent comps. Works good as they give you a map and you can click other properties for rent comparables. I also use Rentometer.com
MichaelC 160 Report post Posted August 11, 2009 I've fiddled with both but haven't found anything better than knowing your local market. And the best way to do that is by checking out the ads in the paper and online for comparable units and seeing what rents are going for. If you want to take it a step further, contact the owner and pick his brains. Most are willing to share info.
