apbowman 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2007 I started using this service a while back and just wanted to pass on the information to everyone here. This is the address for the site www.privatephone.com/ So what I did was sign up for like 4 accounts and record a voice mail talking about the property. Then I can track the phone numbers because it has a caller ID function and email me as soon as I get a call. Now I don't have to pay for an 800 number anymore and can cut back on my cell.....Well I hope some of you find this helpful.

BEV! 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2007 You're welcome WestCoastGirl Here's another FREE voice mail I have used for a lil' over a yr which is my favorite!!This one has local phone numbers and is located close to my area, but just recently this service was bought by Google.Google is now adding so many exciting new features to it that amazes me! (free account)They've even added a global button which you can put on your ads or webpages for people to call you for FREE!What I understand by reading the global button (see below) is that even if your phone number is long distancefor the caller, it will be a free call for them if they click on the button to call you. You can also have several phones and greetings for different callers (personal, biz, friends, family, etc all in one place) and You can video email anyone online for free! Will this be free for ever now that Google has it? I've no idea. But it is in beta right now Anyway, if you're interested and once you go to the page to check this free voice mail out, you will be asked to reserve your phone numberChoose your area code and enter your email address (click the reserve button).Google will then notify you via email within 24 hours or so telling you that your phone number is now ready and to sign up and set up your new phone account. That's It. This is what the global button looks like that you can put on your ads or webpages for people to call you for FREE! of how this service works Here's the page to reserve your phone number Have FUN!!! Jason (AL) 1 Report post Posted November 15, 2007 Nice find, Bev! But I dunno... I'm not sure if I want my cell phone and home phone to ring every timesomeone calls my universal #. Besides, I'm able to check my voice mail fromany phone by dialing my voice mailbox #. Plus, it's not very convenient to check my voice mailon the internet, when I could simply check themfrom my phone. Also, isn't it just another phone # to give out andfor folks to remember? What would be the point in having the cell # now? I know you listed the many benefits, andmaybe I'm missing something, but what could convince me to give it a try?Any specific/personal reasons you use on a dailybasis to make life easier? Thanks! *Not trying to bash your find, Bev.I'm just trying to see the benefits and justifya certain southern feller getting this.I'm doing more research and watching reviewsonline. Jason (AL) 1 Report post Posted November 15, 2007 Ok.I'm back. After zooming through some critiquesand videos about GrandCentral, I'm "seeing the light". So far, I'm liking the: 1. Ability to screen an incoming call wheneveryou pick up.Do I want to answer it? Do I want them to leave me avoice mail? If it's that hot chick I met earlier, do I want tolisten as she is leaving the voice mail? --->yes 2. Ability to switch phones.I get a very weak to no signal at my house (& within a 3 mile radius). So if I get an important call from said hot chick and want to talk to her, rather than listen in on her leaving me a voice mail, I can switch itto my home phone. Not too shabby.I've reserved me a # and will be looking into this further. Here's some videos: Video
