My godfather & I are talking about partnering up to get into this real estate business for quite some time. I've worked with mortgages for past 5 years. I've been in mortgage collections, to bankruptcy specialist on mortgages, to working in a bank closing mortgage deals. I know theres lots of potential out there, only thing is I know none of the tricks of the trade. Which is why I'm hear to hopefully learn some since most dont like to share. My godfather is a general contractor & he has man power & knowledge to fix up any house or building & know guess-timated costs on how much it would cost by looking, walking through, & jotting some numbers down. But he's stuck working as a regional manager for a roofing company. He's broken english & no knowledge on how to get started might be why he's still there. But he's learning from doing countless side jobs & plenty of referrals to book him out over a months work. I'd most likely be the one trying to make the deals with the realtor or homeowner. One question I have if any of you know otherwise I'm sure I can find out from my notary helpline. Say I get a homeowner to deed property over to me & I sign as new owner. Can I also notarize my own document? (I am a notary) ~Filippo C. 24 yrs old & tired of working for the man & trying to become the man in partnership with his godfather & any others who are trustworthy & have lots of determination.
