MichaelC 160 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 Jason, you mean on a straight rental is the homeowner coming back to me for the deposit? That's never happened, and I can't imagine it ever will. Call it what you want, a Marketing Fee, a Consultation Fee. But it sure isn't the tenant's deposit that I am holding in escrow. And, yeah, at the end of the lease, the tenant is entitled to a return of their deposit minus any damages. But that's between homeowner and tenant. I have nothing to do with that, nor should I. Jason (AL) 1 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 Yeah, that's was I was referring to.But I knew the homeowners wouldn't come after you for reimbursement. I may've thought too far...you're right....your $ isn't really half of thedeposit....just equal to it. Besides, if they were to pay someone else, I'm sure they would've used thatmoney for advertising/marketing purposes anyway.
MichaelC 160 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 It's fairly straightforward, Jason. Don't overthink the process.
